Jhulan Goswami, India’s fast bowling legend, said recently that failing to win an ODI World Cup will be her “one regret” in her illustrious two-decade career. Goswami has left international cricket following Saturday’s third One-Day International against England at historic Lord’s. The Indian team has previously placed second in both the 2005 and 2017 50-over World Cups. According to Goswami, being given the India cap was the most memorable moment of her career as a cricket player. She remembered how the close to 90,000 spectator Women’s World Cup final between Australia and New Zealand in 1997 at the Eden Gardens fueled her desires.

After the 2017 World Cup, Goswami stated she had been plagued by injuries and had been thinking about retiring. Goswami only wants to end her remarkable career on a happy note now that India has a secure 2-0 series lead. Goswami also praised her long-standing relationship with Mithali Raj, who is now retired from professional cricket.
